When someone in the church I attend gets married and is announced that the congregation is invited to the wedding…Should I attend although we’re not per say friends other than we attend the same church?

If you would like to go, you can. There were some church members that came to my wedding whom I’d never met (it’s a large church). It didn’t bother me at all. Just make sure you dress as if you were going to the reception even if you’re not and smile! One of the church members who came to my wedding dressed casually and was scowling so she stood out in pictures.

It depends on the parish. I would first go to a wedding of someone you know and get a sense from there.
