Dial Up: During what hours is it appropriate to call someone?

by epi on April 13, 2014

Q: What is the standard cut-off time to make a phone call at night?

A: As a general rule, telephone calls should be placed between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. unless you are certain a friend or relative doesn’t mind being called earlier or later.  Even those who do not go to bed at nine o’clock may consider their day “closed” after that hour.
