Response Time: How far ahead of a party do I send out invitations?

by epi on March 25, 2014

Q: How far ahead of a 50th anniversary party should the invites be sent?  How far ahead of the event should the RSVP date be set?

A: Your RSVP date is set by your caterer or by yourself if you are doing the food preparation, e.i. the number of days ahead you would need an answer.  You would also give a day or two grace period within that so that you have time tocall those who haven’t responded (there will be those who don’t) and count back four to six weeks for the mailing date for your invitations.
