What is the proper salutation for adult siblings living in the same house? The address line says, Mr. John and Mrs. Jill Smith, but what about the salutation?

The proper mode of address (on the envelope) would be Mr. John Smith (and then on a second line) Ms. Jill Smith. Jill is not married to John, so she is not Mrs and they do not go on the same line.

The salutation depends on how well you know them. It could either be “Dear Mr. Smith and Ms. Smith” or Dear John and Jill.”
