Q: What is an honorary bridesmaid? What are her duties and what should she
wear to the wedding?
A: An honor role is one that is given when the bride and/or groom want to include special people in their wedding party other than the limited number of attendants that they have asked. It can be to read a passage at the ceremony, serve as guestbook attendant, pass out ceremony programs, or any number of special duties that the bride or groom may ask someone to fulfill. An honorary bridesmaid need not dress identical to the bridesmaids, but perhaps will have a corsage to show her special status. It is truly up to the bride and/or groom to decide what her specific duties are.
