Toasting the Bride and Groom: Engraving the champagne glasses

by epi on April 9, 2013

Q: What is the proper etiquette for engraving the champagne flute toasting glasses? Should the bride’s name be first or the groom’s?

A: Traditionally the woman’s name came first and the man’s second: Linda and John Jones. Today, either order is acceptable. We know that doesn’t sound very definitive! However, you will rarely go wrong by following the tradition. Our best wishes to the happy couple.

The etiquette is that you find out if the bride is keeping her name.

Or use only first names.
