Q: I am planning a church wedding to take place this July at 10 am with a brunch reception after. I will be wearing a traditional, though fairly simple, formal gown, and my fiance is considering wearing a suit as opposed to the traditional tuxedo, because he argues that a tuxedo is evening wear. I agree that a suit looks better in the morning, but is it appropriate?
A: Yes. A tuxedo is not worn during the day, so a suit is the perfect choice. Best wishes!

He could also wear a morning coat with light grey pinstriped pants. This is the gentleman’s formalwear equivalent to the tuxedo for the morning. Your local formawear rental shop will have these available along with evening wear rentals.
Morning dress is perfect, Chocobo. I’m surprised EPI didn’t mention it, although according to this site (http://www.blacktieguide.com/Supplemental/Morning_Dress.htm) its use is limited outside the UK.
