Question: When wearing white wrist length gloves to a ladies afternoon tea, do I remove my right glove and place it flat on my left gloved open palm then hold the saucer and tea cup in my left hand using my right hand for my tea cup, etc. OR do I leave both hands gloved to meet people as well as to sip tea, taste delicacies, etc.? (In my case, I am right handed.)
Nan, actually the same rules apply for gloves whether dining or having tea; both gloves should be removed and placed in your purse or on your lap, beneath your napkin, and donned again upon leaving.
How do I address a sympathy card for someone whose parent has died? Do I include the spouse’s name as in “Mr. and Mrs. so and so” ?
Yes, address the card to Mr. and Mrs. They have both lost a loved one.
