Our daughter (an American) is marrying an Englishman here in the United States, however, they will be living in London, England. What would be the proper ettiquette wording in the invitations stating that a cash gift (if any) would be appreciated rather than a gift they would have to mail overseas.?
If your daughter registers at any online store she can designate where she would like gifts to be shipped to — and select to have the gifts shipped directly to her in the UK. That way they will all be waiting for her when she arrives home. If friends and family inquire you can tell them that the happy couple would prefer cash, but otherwise, make no mention of it anywhere.
best,
Sound advice Carrie.
It may seem to go without saying, however do make certain that the online registry offers shipping to the UK. Most large businesses do; some smaller ones don’t.
