Coworker Courtship: When your office has a no dating policy

by EPI Staff on January 25, 2010

Q: There’s a strict policy against interoffice romance at my job, but I know that two of my coworkers are dating.  Do I say something?

A: As long as they don’t report to you, stay out of it.  Assuming that their relationship doesn’t affect your job responsibilities or interfere with your duties, the best approach is to let it be and say nothing.  However, if one of the colleagues is a close friend, you can gently remind them of the office policy and express your concern about the potential repercussions for both members of the couple.
