An obvious and joyful break from tradition here. We approve! Breaking from tradition is fine, as long as you consider the feelings of others involved. Will what you’re planning hurt anyone’s feelings or make your guests uncomfortable? Didn’t look like it to us. Is it a tradition that holds special meaning to someone close to you who might be hurt by you not including that tradition on your wedding day? If yes, that’s a good reason to think twice.
These wedding guests are delighted with this nontraditional processional—they caught right on and get into the spirit quickly. Remember, etiquette is about applying the principles of honesty, respect and consideration. That leaves plenty of room to dance.
