Cohosting Credit: When one name is left off the invitation

by EPI Staff on June 3, 2009

Q: A friend and I are splitting the cost of a birthday party for a mutual friend, but my cohost sent out the invitation in her name only. Should I tell the guests about my contribution or just let the matter slide?

A: I wouldn’t make an issue of the oversight by telling the guests that you and your cohost split the cost but I would let the guest of honor know that you helped pay for the party. And it would be reasonable to point out to your cohost that you didn’t appreciate having your name omitted from the invitation.
